45° angle attack on corner cushion. Cue ball "splits" the corner. Advanced; needs precise pace and timing.
Diagonal Position — Setup
Object balls in opposite quadrants. Cue ball positioned to attack corner at exactly 45°.
Stroke and english
Medium pace; ½ tip english (depends on direction). Strike center.
When to use it
Corner attack creates a clean 3-cushion path. Less common but valuable when it appears.
Common mistakes
Off-angle attack (not 45°) ruins symmetry. Too much pace overshoots.
Success rate & practice
Lower probability than ticky/umbrella but visually spectacular.
Pro players who use it
Korean PBA pros (Cho Jae-Ho, Kang Dong-Koong) excel at diagonal patterns.
