3-Cushion Billiards Simulator and 3-Ball Trainer

Build a three-cushion or free-carom position, tune the full cue contact, compare practical shot families, replay the result and keep a local practice record. The calibrated simulator is a training reference—not a guarantee for a real table.

Features

  • Two rule modes — Switch between international three-cushion scoring and free carom without rebuilding the position.
  • Positions and table profiles — 25 playable presets, random layouts, manual placement, undo/redo, standard dimensions and custom table size.
  • Local photo assistant — Classical vision suggests corners and balls on the device; review, edit or replace every point manually before transfer.
  • Physical stroke controls — Angle, power, side/top contact, cue elevation and a visible miscue boundary share one desktop/mobile contract.
  • Physics V3 laboratory — Every new shot uses Physics V3. The frozen V2 reference remains available only for transparent comparison and legacy replay; measurement status is disclosed.
  • Unified solution portfolio — One rule-aware search combines available stroke families, validates replay and ranks distinct routes from practical to risky.
  • Camera and training aids — Orbit, zoom, top/side/perspective views, route-assist levels, 5.5 system overlay and optional spin guidance.
  • Replay and history — Playback speed, scrubbing, event trace, undo/redo, shot history and JSON export support deliberate review.
  • Drills and results — Repeat a saved position, track manual attempts, finish a session and review streaks and coach-style prompts locally.
  • Personal and shareable — Independent table finish, cloth and ball designs; 10 languages, light/dark themes, sound, local saves and share links.

Game Modes

  • Three-cushion scoring
  • Free-carom scoring

How the Simulator Works

3ball runs a calibrated physics-based 2D training model in your browser. Ball, cushion, spin and cloth responses are approximated by simulation; results are a comparative practice reference, not a guarantee of behavior on real equipment.

No machine learning. One Physics V3 search follows the active three-cushion or free-carom rule, evaluates direct, cushion and elevated stroke families, removes duplicates and orders the portfolio from easy and stable to demanding and risky. Real-table measurement status remains clearly disclosed.

Practicing from a real table? Local classical computer vision suggests corners and ball positions without the photo leaving your device. You must review and can edit every point before transfer; if suggestions are unreliable, place every point manually. A homography maps only the points you approve. No machine learning is used and accuracy is not guaranteed.

In the simulator’s three-cushion mode, the cue ball must contact both other balls and make at least three cushion contacts before reaching the second object ball. Repeated contact with the same cushion can count. Free carom removes the cushion requirement. These are scoring modes, not a replacement for full competition rules or a referee.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is 3ball free to use?

The browser simulator is free to use without an account. Web advertising is currently disabled.

Do I need to install anything to use 3ball?

Use a current browser with WebGL2 support. Performance depends on your device, browser and scene; a device’s age alone does not establish compatibility. You can use the website directly. Where supported, your browser also offers installation or Add to Home Screen; the steps vary by browser and operating system. The Install guide explains the options.

What languages does 3ball support?

All 10: English, Turkish, Spanish, German, Korean, Vietnamese, Dutch, French, Japanese and Italian — fully localized.

Does 3ball collect personal data?

No account or identity details are required. Essential preferences and a pseudonymous issue-report key stay in your browser; report data is processed only if you submit it. GA4 and Yandex Metrica run only after analytics consent, while session recording and Clarity are disabled. Full details are on the Legal page.

What is the difference between 3-cushion and 3-ball Free carom?

In the simulator’s three-cushion mode, the cue ball must contact both other balls and make at least three cushion contacts before reaching the second object ball. Repeated contact with the same cushion can count. Free carom removes the cushion requirement. These are scoring modes, not a replacement for full competition rules or a referee.
